Release Stiffness - Improve Mobility - Resolve Pain
GENTLE - SAFE - EFFECTIVE
Myofascial release is a gentle, hands-on, bodywork technique that works deeply into the body to ease chronic pain and restore alignment and mobility to muscles and joints. Myofascial release benefits both the most sensitive clients with chronic pain conditions and those with deep tissue restrictions from injury and overuse.
Your first appointment will be for 90 minutes (thereafter approximately 60 minutes). We will need to complete a simple consultation regarding general health, medical history and lifestyle. Getting to know you and understand why you have come to the clinic is so important to how I can deliver an effective treatment to address your issues.
The treatment is with soft hands on skin and so undressing to your underwear is requested. However, If this is outside your comfort zone then you are welcome to wear a loose t-shirt and shorts. Looking at movement patterns as you stand and walk are all clues to me for compensations you may have.
Treatment will be on my therapy couch with blankets covering you. I may use different techniques all connected with fascia in a gentle and often deeply healing way. During the treatment you may feel sensations anywhere in your body. This could be tingling, fluctuations, or even feelings of slight stretching. This is all very normal. Remember fascia connects everywhere and can change anywhere.
Put on a loose jumper and pick up the hem, pull or twist it and you will see lines of puckering in the material. This is just how fascia works when it is restricted, only it is in the tissues of our body often impacting on sensitive structures, i.e joints.
I work from a renovated chalet in a corner of my large garden. Quiet, private and secluded, fit for purpose with a wood burning stove for chilly days. The whole chalet is set up for healing and your relaxation.
Nestled in the shadow of the ancient Quantock Hills, green pastures all around with horses and much bird life just outside, it is simply perfect and a dream of mine fulfilled. The feedback from clients has been so positive, treatments are enhanced as they feel a sense of harmony and well being.
Re: Covid-19 - the chalet meets all criteria for health and safety. There are 5 windows for ventilation, it has its own bathroom facilities, it is cleaned and all linens are changed between clients.
Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle hands on therapy that facilitates the body to create change, freeing restrictions and creating flexibility and mobility.
Reflexology is a holistic therapy applying a type of massage to the feet. It is a form of foot therapy that encourages the body to balance and heal itself.
This condition can create pure misery for many people. So what is it and why is it so important that clients seek treatment if diagnosed with this disorder?
